Feniton defeat Budleigh Salterton

The Feniton mixed team returned to winning ways with a comfortable win against Budleigh Salterton, writes Roger Smith.

In a 109-85 triumph the winning rinks were J Wheatley, E Cox and A Kury (28-15), F Jones, D Phillips and L Ley (21-11) and S Goodenough, T Young and R Arundell (17-11).

This was followed by a convincing 73-47 success over local rivals Honiton.

The winning rinks were F Jones, G Skinner, R Veitch and D Evans (22-11), V Jones, E Goodenough, J Livings and A Kury (18-8) and B Halse, R Crowe-Swords, A Smith and D Coyne (19-10).

There was another impressive win recorded in the meeting with Exonia as Feniton won 86-63.

The winning rinks were F Jones, G Skinner, E Rolph and Ro Clarke (26-12), J Wheatley, J Rolph, SKury and D Evans (23-16) and A Pritchard, E Goodenough, J Livings and L Ley (21-16).

Finally, there was another excellent 88-67 victory against visiting Hemyock with the winning Feniton rinks being Ru Clarke, L Ley, J O’Sullivan and R North (28-15), R Cooke,B Halse, Ro Clarke and A Kury (24-17) and G Skinner, J Lovell, S Kury and D Coyne (17-16).

The men’s team lost a close and entertaining match against tourists Cornwall Celtic by 102-119. The winning rinks D Conbeer, D Sanders, J Skinner and D Coyne (22-15) and A Smith, G Phillips, L Ley and R Smith (17-16).
