Feniton enjoy fine win over Phear Park

The men’s team continued their fine start to the County Trophy campaign with a win against Sidmouth by 90-67, writes Roger Smith.

The winning rinks were A Evans, D Viles, D Coyne and K Lovering (29-7) and A Smith, R Clarke, D Evans and R Smith (22-17).

This was followed by a fine win against Phear Park in the Foxlands Trophy by 49-35. The winning rinks were I Veitch, D Coyne, A Kury and S Dommett (28-15) and J Skinner, R Cooke, P Spreadbury and K Lovering (21-20).

The over 60s A team continued their good form with a narrow win over Crediton B by 32-30.

The winning rinks was D Sanders, R North and R Arundell (32-30), the other rink being tied. The B team also secured all eight points against Madeira D winning by (33-24). The winning rinks were M Evans, G Skinner and D Evans (19-13) and A Hughes, G Phillips and D Conbeer (14-11).

The ladies lost their Grace Matthews Top Club competition match against Seaton by 4 rinks to one. The only winning rink was J Smith and A Coyne (26-21).

The mixed team suffered a narrow defeat away to Bradninch losing by 68-76. The winning rink was S Goodenough, A Coyne, J Smith and K Lovering (26-8).
