Feniton Ladies edged out by Honiton in East Devon league meeting

Feniton ladies were beaten 49-29 by Honiton in their latest East Devon League match, writes Roger Smith.

There was also a narrow defeat for the Feniton mixed team , edged out 109-96 by Crediton.

The winning rinks were; D Phillips, J Rolph, D Evans and P Spreadbury (14-10), R Veitch, L Crook, G Phillips and J O’ Sullivan (19-16) and S Goodenough, Ru Clarke, L Ley and Ro Clarke (18-17).The mixed team then lost 93-89 to touring side Beckenham and Bromley.

In this game the winning rinks were; N Cox, A Hughes, J Livings and A Kury (17-13), L Crook, E Cox, T Young and J O’Sullivan (15-12) and F Jones, J Wheatley, L Ley and R Veitch (13-12).

However, they have recently defeated Chagford 59-36 with the winning rinks being; L Crook, G Skinner and L Ley (25-8) and V Jones, T Young and G Phillips (19-9).

They then saw off Heavitree 87-80 with the winning rink being J Wheatley, J Skinner, R Veitch and A Kury (29-8).

A meeting with Plymouth Sir Francis Drake saw Feniton’s mixed team win 123-116 and the winning rinks were; G Blackmore, G Skinner, I Veitch and P Spreadbury (39-6), Ru Clarke, G Perryman, J Smith and K Lovering (21-17) and D Phillips, M Mitchell, Ro Clarke and D Evans (21-17), before they beat Dunkeswell 74-62, and in this game the winning rink comprised, V Jones, A Evans and A Kury (25-9).
