Feniton went down by 69 runs in their C Division East meeting with Alphington in a game that saw two major contributions from players who are leading lights in South West football.

Exeter City manager Mark Taylor top scored with 92 for Alphington as the Exeter side closed on a commanding 268-7 and then Exmouth Town chairman, Stuart Shaw, took four wickets for 18 runs as Feniton, batting second, were bowled out for 199.

Highlights for Feniton were a brace of wickets for Mark Kingdon, who took 2-46 and Graham Tucker, who top scored in the Feniton reply.

With eight games to go, Feniton are 21 points from safety, sitting in the bottom three and, on Saturday (July 7) they entertain a Budleigh Salterton side that sit one place and 20 points below them. Which ever side loses this game on Saturday can consider themselves as having one foot in the D Division East.
