Feniton men crash out of County Trophy at hands of local rivals Ottery St Mary

Feniton men’s County Trophy ambitions were thwarted by local rivals Ottery St Mary when they lost narrowly by 13 shots to them in a local derby, writes Roger Smith.

The only winning rink was J Livings, A Smith, R Clarke and R Smith (17-16).

The Over-60s B team inflicted a crushing defeat on Exeter St Thomas C by 58-18. The winning rinks were M Evans, G Skinner and D Evans (35-6) and J Dibble, G Phillips and R Clarke (23-12).

The A team failed to collect any points against St Thomas A despite losing by just four shots at 34-38.

The Feniton ladies team defeated Chardstock ladies 42-28. The winning rinks were G Blackmore, Ru Clarke, S Miller and G North (24-12) and N Cox, A Coyne, J Smith and J O’ Sullivan (18-16).

This was followed by a narrow 49-41 victory over Sidmouth ladies where the winning rinks were J Smith, S Miller and J O’Sullivan (21-16), G Blackmore, G North and S Kury (13-12) and G Smith, J Lovell and C Granger (15-14).

The mixed team lost away at Belmont 47-83 where the only winning rink was N Cox, E Cox and A Kury (18-11).
