Feniton men suffer mixed bag of results in opening Over-60s Triples League matches

The men’s Over-60s Triples League season is underway, but Feniton teams got off to a mixed start, writes Roger Smith.

Hawks suffered a narrow one shot loss, going down 32-31 to Sidmouth A, who won the contest on the final wood.

The winning rink was D Sanders, A Smith and I Veitch. There was better news from the Eagles as they gained two points away to Crediton B.

The winning rink was D Downs, D Conbeer and D Coyne. The newly formed Falcons team won away at Phear Park by 44- 28, where the successful Feniton rink was the one of B Singleton, R Binmore and K Lovering, who won 12-9.

The ladies lost their Over-50s Triples League match against Honiton, going down 46-21.

There was also action for the mixed team, who lost narrowly away to Seaton, going down 65-62.

The winning rinks for Feniton were the ones of L Crook, D Bowden, B Singleton and A Kury, 18-11, and B Bowden, A Murdoch, S Kury and I Veitch, 18-14.

They followed this with a good 98-74 win over visiting Lyme Regis. The winning rinks were G Blackmore, D Downs, S Kury and R North, 24-6, J Livings, A Coyne, B Singleton and D Conbeer, 27-11 and M Evans, L Howell, A Kury and T Chapman, 19-14.
