Feniton mixed team enjoy big win over Seaton

Feniton B continued their winning ways last week in the Exeter and District Ovcer-60s Triples League, writes Roger Smith.

They did so with victory by the smallest of margins thanks to a single shot win over Madeira C. The 37-36 success means team stay top of their division.

The winning rink was L Ley, D Conbeer and R Clarke with a 21-19 score line.

Meanwhile, in the same competition, the A team gained an important eight points away at North Tawton, winning by 46-23. The winning rinks were M Evans, A Smith and R Smith (23-11) and E Cox, M Chipperfield and A Evans (23-12).

Feniton ladies’ lost their Exeter and District League match against Honiton by 28 shots to 38.

The mixed team enjoyed a convincing 114-44 win over Seaton with the winning rinks; G Smith, M Evans, J Livings and D Evans (36-8), G Blackmore, J Wheatley, D Conbeer and A Smith (33-8), D Bowden, R Crowe-Swords, J Smith and R North (22-13) and B Bowden, T Young, A Evans and R Veitch (23-15).

They enjoyed more success with a win away at Topsham by 138-117. The winning rinks were C Sanders, D Sanders, R Cooke and A Kury (39-12), L Crook, C Maynard, S Kury and R Smith (29-17) and R Lovering, D Phillips, L Ley and D Coyne (21-17).
