The Feniton men’s Over-60s triples B team secured promotion to Division Seven last week, writes Roger Smith.

They finished as runners-up to Uffculme, although both teams had 97 points, Uffculme had the better shot difference and so were champions.

The mixed team lost away to Chardstock by 69-89. The winning rink was M Evans, A Pritchard, G North and I Veitch (24-19).

However, winning ways returned when they defeated tourists Surbiton by 90-59. The winning rinks were D Sanders, V Jones, D Conbeer and R Smith (31-13), F Jones, R Veitch and D Evans (22-10) and G Blackmore, S Goodenough and I Veitch (18-15).

Next up an 81-56 defeat at Bovey Tracey where the winning Feniton rinks were; G Blackmore, V Jones, G Phillips and A Evans (18-17) and F Jones, J Skinner, J Mitchell and R Clarke (18-17).

In their final match of the week Feniton defeated visitors Axminster, on all four rinks, by 87-56. The winning rinks were; G Smith, E Goodenough, G Skinner and C Granger (27-11), T Young, J Skinner, L Ley and A Smith (22-13), J Evans, L Morris, E Cox and P Edmonds (20-16) and C Maynard, D Morris, J O’Sullivan and D Evans (18-16).
