Pupils from Feniton C of E Primary have successfully completed the East Devon Cross Country Series, coming home with several trophies.

Hosted by Stockland Primary, the series consists of four races throughout the winter, battling extremely muddy and wet conditions under foot.

The series attracts schools from all over East Devon and Somerset and is a highly competitive event.

Feniton had great success coming home with a number of trophies.

Scarlett Livingstone won the individual series for year three and four girls, a fantastic achievement considering she is a year two pupil racing girls up to two years older. Scarlett’s brother Johnny took runner up in the individual year five and six boys race. In the team categories, Feniton year three and four girls were second overall in the series while a tremendous effort from a strong Year five and six boys team saw them as runaway winners coming first out of 20 schools. All the Feniton Primary runners showed great courage and determination.

The children train at their school running club which since starting two years ago has proved very popular with pupils attracting around 40 plus children, some running competitively locally and all enjoying the health benefits of fitness and fresh air.
