Feniton's Eveleigh wins ladies' singles

The A team secured a narrow victory by 33-31 over Marina B. The winning rink was E Cox, A Evans and R North 15-13 with the other rink being tied. This result virtually assures that the A team finish in third place in Division 3, a fine achievement in their first season in this division.
The B team secured maximum points against Marina C winning by 42-25. The winning rinks were C Cheeseley, G Skinner and F Imms 19-10 and E Goodenough, R Clarke and D Conbeer 23-1. This was a crucial result which confirms the B team's place in division 6 for next season.
On Tuesday, Feniton were privileged to play host to the match between The Devon County Ladies' Bowling Association with Hampshire. Unfortunately, on a rain affected afternoon, Devon lost to Hampshire.

On Thursday, the visitors to Feniton were Phear Park. In a close, friendly and exciting game, Feniton mixed team drew with Phear Park 76-76. The winning rinks were F Jones, J Cartland, J Mitchell and R Smith 19-12 and F Brooks, J Skinner, J Smith and A Evans 21-19.
On Saturday, Feniton entertained tourists from Wotton under Edge. The score in a close match was 118-107 to the tourists.

The winning rinks for Feniton were R Cooke, D Phillips, E Tuck and R Arundell 28-16 and G Phillips, E Goodenough, R Clarke and S Kury 19-15.
The final match of the week was away against Ottery St. Mary and the home side exacted ample revenge for an early season defeat by beating Feniton by 66-81. Feniton's only winning rink was J Livings, J Skinner, E Tuck and R North 21-12.
The ladies' singles final was won by Lyn Eveleigh who defeated Gill Smith by 22-7.
