Feniton Bowling club launched a new outdoor campaign last Sunday, writes Roger Smith.

The opening drive was held on an overcast afternoon and the traditional first wood was sent away by president Michael Chipperfield.

The traditional spider competition was then held and it proved a real success for Ladies’ captain Glynda Blackmore.

The main opening day competition was won by Kevin Lovering, Graham Phillips, Graham Perryman and Gill Smith with a score of plus 17.
