The 12-year-old won the Devon County Closed Championships for Boys 12 and Under, at Ivybridge.

The Kings school, Ottery St Mary student plays out of Exeter Tennis Centre as well as representing Tipton St John Tennis Club and he beat Barnstaple based Kieran Rooney Heason 6-7, 6-3, 11-9 in the final, fighting off two match points in the process.

In the semi-final he had beaten Exeter training partner Matthew Turner 6-3, 6-0.

It was a good end to the season which saw the youngster represent Devon in the County Cup and finish number one in the county rankings.
