Feniton six play part in Section Three success at Torquay.

In the Over-60s Triples League there was defeat by the narrowest of margins for Feniton B, writes Roger Smith.

The team suffered a single shot loss, 33-32, to Sidmouth C which meant they banked just two points.

The successful Feniton rink was the one of D Conbeer, C Maynard and D Evans who won 19-14.

This results means that the destiny of the Division Seven title will be decided on the final match of the season!

The A team ensured another season in Division Three by defeating Budleigh Salterton A 31-26. The winning rink was E Cox, M Chipperfield and A Evans, 19-9.

In the NBTL the ladies defeated Pinces Gardens by 49-27. The winning rinks were; G Blackmore, D Phillips and R Veitch (29-16) and J Evans, J Smith and G North (20-11).

They also drew 30-30 with Exonia with the winning rink being; G Blackmore, D Phillips and R Veitch (19-13). In a friendly match against local rivals Honiton there was a 52-41 defeat with the winning rink the one of J Skinner, J Smith and E Rolph 16-15.

The mixed team lost away 80-73 at Bridport. Here the winning Feniton rinks were; R Lovering, J Skinner, A Coyne and R Cooke (23-17) and G Perryman, E Goodenough, S Kury and K Lovering (21-16).

However, they then defeated Belmont 7-65 with the winning rinks; J Whetley, J Skinner and L Ley (18-10) and G Blackmore, S Goodenough and G Skinner (25-19). This was followed by a 74-58 loss to visitors Phear Park. The successful home rink was J Evans, L Morris, L Ley and A Kury (19-14).

Winning ways were restored with an 84-65 success over St Thomas. Here the successful rinks were; F Jones, D Sanders, D Phillips and G Phillips (28-14), G Blackmore, E Goodenough, D Conbeer and A Kury (23-13) and M Evans, G Skinner, L Ley and P Spreadbury (20-15).

At the end of a busy schedule the final outing of the week was a 114-79 win over local rivals Ottery St Mary.

The winning rinks were J Smith, L Morris, R North and R Veitch (28-10), DB Bowden, A Hughes, D Phillips and R Smith (24-13), D Bowden, C Sanders, G Phillips and D Evans (24-13) and D Sanders, J Wheatley, G North and I Veitch (20-12).

Six members from Feniton, K Lovering, A Kury, I Veitch, D Coyne, J Skinner and P Spreadbury, were part of the Section Three team that defeated Section One in the Coronation Cup at Torquay with the score being 121-116.
