Feniton sit just a point shy of a D Division promotion berth after one third of the season following a nine wicket win over ten-man Cockington at Acland Park.

The South Devon side are enduring a difficult season and Feniton showed them no mercy with Russ Whitton claiming six wickets for just three runs from half a dozen overs!

Brian Cann was the only wicket to be lost in a swift run chase. The opener fell for 15 leaving Ben Allen (18) and skipper Mark Kingdon (16) to see the hosts over the line for an early finish.

Kingdon said: “I do feel for them (Chelston) as they are a smashing side, but are clearly having problems this season. We did what we had to do. It was nice to get the job done so we could settle back and watch the Euro football in the bar from 5pm.”

Next up for Feniton is a home meeting with Filleigh who will arrive in East Devon sitting fifth, two places and six points below Kingdon’s men in the table.
