Feniton recovered from a two goal deficit to bag a tremendous 3-2 win at Elmore to make progress the Devon Premier Cup.

The home side, fielding a team full of players who had started this season in the club’s then South West Peninsula League Premier Division eleven, raced into a 2-0 lead, but parity was restored midway through the first half with two goals in as many minutes, both scored by Charlie Selley.

The winning goal came five minutes from time when Ben Allen rifled home a goal worthy of a higher stage!

Blues boss Mark Kingdom says: “Not may sides would have gone there and won like that. To come back we did says much about what we have in this side now. The sky really is the limit for these lads and I am looking forward to seeing where they take the club in the coming months – and years.”

On Saturday the Blues return to Fresha League top flight action and an Acland Park meeting with Newtown side that has already lost five of their 11 league games so far this term!

Kingdom says: “After Sidbury’s defeat last weekend we now sport the last remaining unbeaten top flight record. Tivvy Town are, for obvious reasons; the favourites, but as long as we keep winning we’ll give ourselves every chance.”

Ben Allen misses the visit of Newtown, but Mark Simic, who was not part of the Horsdon Park heroics, returns and the Blues may give along-awaited debut to Andrew Thompson.
