Feniton Under-14s made Exeter and District League KO Cup progress with a 4-2 win at Honiton.

Four goals of exquisite quality settled a hard fought East Devon Cup derby at Mountbatten Park in Feniton’s favour.

The game ignited into life after ten minutes when Oscar Walsh picked the ball up and smashed it into the top corner from 30-yards out to put Feniton 1-0 to the good. Chances came at regular intervals for Feniton, but inspired goalkeeping from the Honiton glovesman ensured that the game remained at 1-0 going into half-time.

The second half saw Honiton continue to soak up pressure. The sucker punch came midway through the second half when Honiton scored off a corner to level the score. However, Walsh again came up trumps with another breathtaking volley to enable Feniton to regain a deserved lead. This was quickly increased when Sam Ayres took a Chris Badcott pass into his stride and confidently beat the keeper from 18-yards out. Honiton though to their credit came back with another to make it 3-2 before Sam Ayres finished with a firm drive into the corner to complete the scoring.
