A century from Alex Frankpitt helped secure victory for Feniton over Kentisbeare in the Tolchards Devon Cricket League D Division East.

In the highscoring affair, Fention ended their 45 overs on 266-9 while the visitors Kentisbeare were all out for 128 after 33.4 overs.

Middle order batsmen Alex Frankpitt proved to be the difference for Feniton as his arrival to the crease at 41-3 helped steady the ship.

He did not leave until the score was at 255-8 having scored 111 and the game had firmly swung into Feniton's favour.

His fellow batsmen struggled to get going as only Mark Salter, Jack Tucker and Jonathan Pyle reached double digits.

Pyle's knock of 63 from 60 balls helped boost the score for the home side. His partnership of 77 alongside Frankpitt made Kentisbeare's task a hard one.

The visitors began their 266 run chase in a disastrous manner. Opener Paul Tatterton nicked a delivery into the palms of wicketkeeper Salter from the bowling of Pyle to leave the crease on one.

John Buckland was the pick of the bowlers as he took four wickets for 29 runs.

Alex Brookes' score of 32 was the highest for Kentisbeare but the team fell well short of the target. They ended on 128 all out after 33.4 overs.

That win sent Feniton to the top of the table and up next for them is an away match at second placed Upottery.
