Game three of the Honiton Winter League program means we’re half way through our battles without a dropped weekend, writes Andy Wagner.
There remains one undefeated team in each of the leagues so the games are getting more and more intense.
This week I was left alone to play but so was the opposition team’s Max Pipe. We stood on the first tee fearing the worst!
A win would bring six valuable points but a loss meant a big fat zero for being a singleton. As it turned out there was nothing in the game with the lead changing hands almost every hole. In the end I managed to slot a 15-foot putt to win the 18th and halve the game and gain a very equitable four points each!
A thoroughly thrilling match play morning leaving us both elated at the outcome.
