Archant

Last Wednesday, seven members of LRSAC fished Lyme Regis from 6.30pm until 10.30pm targeting the ‘best flounder’.

Weather conditions were very poor, with a strong south-easterly wind and heavy rain.

All anglers fished from the harbour walls in the hope that the recent dredging works would attract a few fish. This paid off, as there were 11 flounder caught, along with pout and rockling. Darren Herbert took first place with a flounder of 649g, second place went to Tony Bessford and third went to Toby Guest.

On Saturday, 14 members of LRSAC turned out to fish Charmouth, targeting the ‘most number of species’.

Fishing was hard with a dirty sea and a south easterly wind, although the rain did hold off this time!

Flounder, shore Rockling, pout and five beard rockling were all caught. First place went to Toby Guest, second was Tony Bessford and third place went to Darren Herbert.

The next match is the Wednesday league, on March 13 at Lyme Regis, from 6.30pm until 10.30pm. Fishing for the best two specimens. Sign on at ‘The Tackle Box’ from 5.30pm. New members welcome.
