Awliscombe’s Division Five promotion hopes suffered a blow when they were edged out by the odd goal in three at Beer Reserves.

The Awls sixth defeat of the campaign does not end their hopes of playing at the higher level next season for there remains plenty of games to complete this soggy season.

They are in action twice over the Easter weekend starting with a Good Friday trip to a St Martin’s side that they beat 2-0 when the teams met at Greenway Lane back in early September.

On Easter Monday the Awls host one of their big promotion rivals, Culm United.
