Colaton Raleigh 2, Awliscombe Utd 0: Colaton Raleigh are through to their second cup final of the season after beating Awliscombe United in the semi-final on Ottery St Mary's pitch last week.
It was their third big game in just five days and Colaton Raleigh, understandably, looked a little jaded in the first half. They had the majority of the possession but created few clear cut chances.
At the other end Raleigh keeper Tony Cox was untroubled with Raleigh's defensive unit of Ben Hawker, Damian Armes, Darren Bennett and Shaughn Lewis looking very secure.
Raleigh boss Riki Pitter gave the team a half time wake up call and Raleigh could have scored two goals immediately following the resumption.
Connor Macallum burst clean through and fired straight at the keeper. Then Paul Dowling hammered a shot against the woodwork.
With Raleigh dominating play, the Awliscombe defence finally cracked in the 76th minute in unexpected fashion.
A corner kick from Olly Paget was deflected into the net by an Awliscombe defender to put Colaton Raleigh 1-0 ahead.
Connor Macallum sealed victory five minutes later when he fired in a beauty from the edge of the area.
The whole team played well, with Adrian Parr receiving the man of the match from chairman Peter Rapps.
Player/manager Pitter commented: "This season we have just gone out each week to have fun, entertain, and score as many goals as we can. My lads have been fantastic all season and we can't wait for the final. We deserve to be there."
