Axminster Town go down but Chamberlain nets again

PUBLISHED: 13:02 01 December 2011

Axminster Town suffered another heavy home defeat when beaten by Okehampton Argyle at Sector Lane.

The visitors had been top of the table after a 3-0 win at Budleigh Salterton on October 22nd but since then they have drawn three and lost one but bounced back to form at the Tigers expense.

However the margin of defeat was hard on the Tigers who only trailed 1-0 at half-time and were still very much in the game right up until the final third of the contest when the visitors added a second, followed shortly after by two more.

Jamie Chamberlain continued his fine individual form with another goal five minutes from time but the visitors had the final word with a fifth in the closing stages.

Since the Tigers defeated Teignmouth 4-2 at home on October 15th they have suffered six successive defeats, four of them at home and they have shipped 16 goals in those four Sector Lane outings.
