Axminster Town bagged their first ‘home’ win of the league season with a terrific 2-1 win at Acland Park, Feniton against high-flying Galmpton United.

The Tigers, still having to be nomadic footballers until they can play at their new Tiger Way home, had tried eight times before to win a ‘home’ game.

In a superb first half display the Tigers gave the visitors neither time or space and were a yard faster than the South Devon side.

It was no more than they deserved when Ben Vine fired them into a 15th minute lead and they were 2-0 up by half-time thanks to a Sam Dibling goal; the assist down to the impressive Pete Knox.

After the break the visitor’s began to dominate, halved the deficit and then laid siege to the Tigers goal. However, Town stood firm to richly deserve their first home success.

●Upottery’s fabulous run in the Devon Senior Cup came to an end in North Devon when they lost 3-2 at Landkey Town who won the tie in extra-time from the penalty spot.

Feniton powered to a 6-1 success at Thorverton in a Fresha League top flight game with goals from Charlie Selley, Paul Dowling, Danny Lewis, Rob Pfeiffer, Billy Parnell and Ben Allen.
