Axminster Town Reserves made a stunning start to their Fresha League Division Four campaign with a 10-4 win at North Tawton.

Dan Beer and Adam Cowling both notched hat-tricks as the Tigers second team gave evidence of the new strength in depth at Tiger Way.

Leo Maguire, Stuart Broome and 16-year-old Joe Urqhart were also on the score sheet.

Urqhart was a prolific goal scorer in youth football last season and is making a good impression now that he has stepped up into the senior ranks.

The Tigers were three goals to the good before the home team scored their first.

At half-time the lead was 7-3 and the second half saw three more Tigers goals and one from the home side.

On Saturday the Reserves are again on the road when they travel to Mid Devon to face Bampton.
