Axminster Town's nomadic existence continues to mean 'home' game away defeats!

Axminster Town went down 3-1 when they played their latest 'home' game, going down to St Martins at Acland Park, Feniton.

The nomadic Tigers – they are still waiting to play their first ever match at their splendid new ground Tiger Way – fingers crossed that will b early next month – and how management pair Keith Somers and Peter Knox must be looking forward to having a ‘proper home’!

This latest defeat means that the Tigers have now lost all seven of their ‘home’ games in the South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division this term.

They fell behind in their latest match to a 24th minute Danny Pym long-range free-kick that gave Tigers gloves man Brett Garner no chance. However, it was no more than Town deserved when Sam Dibling levelled things up.

Typical of the ill-fortune the Tigers are suffering this season, they succumbed to another defeat late on when former Willand Rovers striker Joel Hawes nudged the visitors ahead and a late third from Kevin Pike simply compounded the Tigers misery.

On Saturday Town are again ‘home’ with another Acland Park match, this time against Budleigh Salterton (2.15pm).
