Axminster Town claimed a second successive Eastern Division victory with a splendid 2-1 success at Brixham.

The Tigers, 4-3 winners three days before over Okehampton Argyle, sealed a third win of the season thanks to an 80th minute Adam Cowling strike.

Nathan Warren scored the only goal of a well-contested first half that saw the Tigers lead 1-0 at the break. Brixham came back well in the second half and levelled through Reece Summers only for Cowling to notch the winner with 10 minutes remaining.

The key to the Tigers success was the performance of their back three. With Gary McCauley out injured, Tigers boss Ian Burns changed formation to use a 3/5/2 and it worked a treat with the defensive trio of Eliot Dyer, Chris Duchenski and the outstanding Mark Small, delivering the goods.

Meanwhile, the Town Reserves went down 4-2 to Bickleigh with Matt Vincent netting the Tigers goal. A youthful Tigers third team went down 8-2 at Otterton.
