Berry and Cann take charge at Dunkeswell Rovers

It’s all change at Dunkeswell Rovers ahead of a new campaign of Devon and Exeter League football for the village football club.
The Dunks, who were last week confirmed as a Division Five side in the make-up of the divisions for the 2018/19 season that starts in August, have appointed a new management duo.
Richard ‘Sid’ Berry and Brian Cann are the pair charged with taking the Dunks on. At the club’s recent annual general meeting, Rod Hill, the man who has almost single-handedly kept the Dunks going in recent years stood down, to be replaced by a duo who have beaten them, decades of service to the sport of football.
Richard Berry has played for the Dunks both as boy and man and Brian ‘Canny’ Cann has a magnificent footballing CV that includes 100s of Western League appearances between the goalposts, most notably at Willand Rovers.
The AGM heard high praise for the tremendous work Rod Hill had done for, and on behalf of, the club over countless years.
The Dunks will return to pre-season training on Wednesday, July 4, in the park behind high field stores/Dunkeswell Social Club with a 7.30pm start. Players, old and new are invited to attend and are asked to wear trainers, but bring studs just in case the surface is softer than it is at present!
