Offwell Rangers were 3-2 home winners when Cheriton Fitzpaine provided the opposition for a Fresha League Division Seven encounter.

A flying start saw Rangers race into a three-goal lead inside 15 minutes! The first goal came from an excellent header from Steve curry, the second came from a superb free-kick from Dean Thomas and the third from Paul Dudley, who finished a superb cross into the box.

The Cherries pulled one back before the break courtesy of a fortunate deflection.

After the break Rangers dominated, but missed a number of chances and Cheriton scored what proved to be the only goal of the second half, albeit in the final minute.

Rangers boss Scott Phillips said: “It was another solid performance. The surface was certainly ‘zippy’ and that contributed to one of their goals! We now sit fourth, just two points off a promotion spot. The way we are playing at the moment we don’t fear any team in this league and we will be very disappointed not to get promoted in our second season of running the team.

“We have a great bunch of lads on and off the pitch and will be looking to keep this good run going!”

The Man of the Match, selected by match sponsors, Bests of Honiton, was Tom Cligg.

On Saturday Rangers travel to Bradninch to face the side currently propping everyone else up in the Fresha League Division Seven table!
