Brewer nets brace as Fishermen head for safe ground

The Fishermen banked the three points that end worries about them being relegated.

Rob Adkin and Ed Busby fired them into a two goal half-time lead and then, after the home side halved the deficit shortly after the break, Adam Brewer restored the two goal advantage.

Axmouth struck again only for the impressive Brewer to slam home his second and, despite another late home goal, Beer were not to be denied.

Boss Ross Moughton said: “We deserved it, and that win ought to mean we can relax somewhat in our final game which sees us at Lords XI. That’s my last game as boss so I may just give myself a game that day!”
