Millwey Rise Reserves went down narrowly when hosts Witheridge Reserves beat them 1-0.

After a brave fight, Millwey went down by a single goal scored midway through the first half. Player-manager Dan Murnane was highly delighted with his team’s display especially the indefatigable Dave Bridges who covered every inch of the field and young Henry Alexander-Mitchell who fashioned himself several good opportunities to score.

Overall it was a fantastic effort by the young Millwey team who have now lost by the odd goal in their last three games. Their moment is now long overdue to secure their first points of the season but continuing in their current determined fashion they will not have to wait much longer.

Lapford Reserves are this week`s visitors to Cloakham Lawns (2.15pm).
