EX-Honiton Town footballers are invited to dust off their boots for a get together at Mountbatten Park on August 31 when the finals of the Pearl Carter Charity Shield will also be held (4pm ko). The pre-season competition is held in memory of Pearl Carter who was secretary of the club from 1968-1980. All players who were at the club from the late 1960s to the mid 1990s are invited to go along for a reunion, talk over old times, enjoy a pint and watch the cup finals. Any who fancy it should take along their football boots (2pm at the latest) as two sides will be picked for a match to precede the finals. Families, friends, spectators and teams who played in the competition are all welcome to come along to support this event. All money raised will go to Pearl's favourite charity Children's Hospice South West.
