Colyton Rebels Under-8s began their Exeter and District League season with an impressive 7-1 win over Whipton.

The Rebels are a new team this season and they proved far too good for the Exeter side on the day.

Striker Archie Morton and mid-fielder Josh Frewin netted several goals during the game and there were some strong defensive displays, particularly from Ben Sweeney and Heath Parsons.

Team manager Richard Frewin said: “The boys played really well and we saw some inspiring performances. We are a new team and it’s great to have such dedicated players. We’re looking forward to the next fixture.”

The club are keen to welcome any new players and youngsters, boys or girls, interested in joining the team can contact the manager via email at
