Honiton 0, Colyton 5

Colyton Under-11s were nap hand winners at Honiton in an East Devon Youth League meeting.

Early goals from Harry Williams and Dan Huggins put the visitors in charge.

Giles Basson and Marcus Symonds added further goals to send Colyton into the break four goals to the good.

In the second half a combination of substitutions, the heat, and some excellent goalkeeping from the Honiton gloves man restricted Colyton to just the one goal, scored by Harry Williams.

Colyton boss Craig Board said: “It was difficult for the boys who had a very hard match the day before and our team was hamstrung with some of our number at a tag rugby festival whilst others ran the junior grizzly on Saturday afternoon so they were all a bit tired especially in the sunshine that we haven’t been used to! Although we didn’t score many in the second half our goal wasn’t really troubled and it was good to come away with a clean sheet and another three points”.

Colyton have another double-header weekend coming up with Saturday’s visit of Kentisbeare followed the next day by a trip to Avishayes
