Cranbrook Under-15s edge out Seaton in close encounter

PUBLISHED: 11:35 20 September 2018

After securing a 3-0 victory over Honiton in the opening weekend of the season, Cranbrook Youth Under-15s went into their game against Seaton looking to build on their momentum.

A fast start to the game saw Cranbrook threaten twice from range after some tidy build up play.

With the majority of the possession ‘The Whites’ continued to press. A great move down the right forced a corner, which was brilliantly executed leaving Kissane two yards out to tap in.

Shortly after the break a mix up in defence presented a loose ball to an oncoming Seaton player who hammered home from outside the box to level things up.

Cranbrook then settled and continued to dominate possession, but they spurned three gilt-edged chances before seeing another effort hit the bar.

It looked like being two points dropped but with one final long throw into the Seaton box the ball fell kindly to the left back Clow, who smashed it into the roof of the net to seal a thrilling 2-1 success.

Coach Stephen Bowyer said: “We played with a lot of courage today in possession, We tried really hard to keep the ball and play.

“I was proud of the team for not changing when things didn’t go for us, and we got out deserved reward at the end!
