Honiton Harriers Under-9s launched their Exeter and District KO Cup campaign with an emphatic success.

The youngsters carried on where they had left off seven days before with another slick all-round team performance.

Tyler Pendrick, Harry Smith, Jack Bevan and Isaac Lidster were all influential and the opening goal arrived with Mason Doble the scorer. Soon after Doble dispossessed a defender and ran on to make it 2-0. Goal number three was another in-swinging Liam Osbourne corner that sailed into the net and it was 4-0 with Pendrick providing the assist and Osbourne the finish.

There were three more goals in the second half with both Doble and Osbourne completing hat-tricks and the odd goal was netted by Isaac Lidster. Jack Cowley did well to earn another clean sheet, but the Harriers Man of the Match was Tyler Pendrick of whom coach Gary Osbourne said: “He was magnificent, his best to date this season. The whole team did well and they continue to show week by week and game by game progression.”

The two sides then played a friendly which Harriers used to give players experience in different positions. Usual defender Jack Bevan, playing in midfield, opened the scoring with his first ever goal for the club. Max Bonfish then struck with his first for the club, but battling Feniton struck before the break to go in 2-1 down. In the second half there was just one more goal, scored by Lidster. Usual goalkeeper Jack Cowley played out field throughout and did well.
