Dudley delight as Offwell Rangers net seven

Offwell Rangers were involved in an East Devon derby with Lympstone Reserves that produced no fewer then ten goals before Rangers banked the points with their second success of the Fresha League Division Seven season.

Rangers held a four goal half-time lead, but three goals early in the second half from the visitors changed the whole complexion of the game. However, Rangers were not to be denied and once they seized control again they went on to bag a comfortable victory.

Dan Williams scored an early brace to put Rangers in the driving seat and a clever chip from Ernie Stobbs beat the visiting gloves man to make it three before a Jamie Westwood volley sent Rangers into the break with a healthy four goal advantage.

After the break the game took a dramatic turn with Lympstone netting three quick goals to come right back into it!

Rangers made some changes and gradually took control once more and were given a two goal lead when Brad Spiller scored. It was soon 6-3 with Paul Dudley netting his firs of the season and player-boss Scott Philips providing the assist.

Jake Phillips, filling in at left back, played a pin-point pass through to Dan Williams to apply a polished finish only to be denied a hat-trick by an off-side flag!

The final goal was scored by Darren Whitmarch after a Brad Spiller free-kick cannoned back off the cross bar.

The Rovers Man of the Match as selected by match sponsor Sean Kelly of Tip Top Trees was Paul Dudley.
