Dunkeswell Rovers were beaten 3-0 at home by Fresha League Division Two title chasing Alphington Reserves.

The Dunks were sluggish in their approach at the start of the game and paid the price as the Alphas took an early lead when the ball was not cleared properly. That lead was doubled by a good cross and firm header to leave the Dunks behind at the break. Just before the whistle blew Brad Morris saw the Alphas gloves man make a fien save to deny him a goal.

The second half saw a better Dunkeswell performance, but they concede a third, albeit from the penalty spot.

Dunks skipper Jamie Berry said: “Having beaten them (Alphington) in the cup at home, but losing away in the league, we knew all about them and it was clear we needed to be at our best to get anything out of the game. Sadly we started slowly and struggled for much of then first half. We improved significantly after the break, but by then the damage had been done.”

Peter Sean, the Dunks very own version of Peter Pan, was outstanding throughout at centre back.
