Dunkeswell Rovers scored two second half goals to claim a 2-1 victory when they entertained Beer Albion Reserves ion a Fresha League Division Six game.
After a humbling minutes silence for the young Bow player who sadly passed away during a match the week before the home side got off to a good start with some great flowing football.
However, it was the visitors who struck first with a powerfully struck free-kick that proved to be the only goal of the first half.
After the break, with Jake Pulman impressing on the left flank, it was no more than the Dunks deserved when Ryan Pike’s strike with 25 minutes left, ended up in the back of the net.
Both sides went in search of a winner, but it was Charlie Stephenson who scored it, much to the delight of the home faithful.
A fifth win in eight league outings keeps the Dunks in a top three berth. On Saturday they host a Newton St Cyres who sit fourth, immediately below them in the table.
