Feniton all set for big showdown with St Martins in Fresha League Match of the Day

PUBLISHED: 09:14 30 January 2014 | UPDATED: 09:14 30 January 2014

Feniton face arguably their biggest game of the Fresha league season to date on Saturday when they entertain second-in-the-table St Martins who are two places and nine points better off than the Blues having played one more game.

The importance of the match is not lost o Feniton boss Mark Kingdom who says: “We cannot afford to let them get any further away from us. Clearly the league title will not be won or lost as a result of this one game. That’s because all the four team that I am sure will be part of the title chase come the business end of the season still have to play each other. However, if we lose then a 12 point deficit, even with a game in hand, would take some clawing back given the quality that is in the St Martins side.”

Seaton Town are the only side to have beaten St Martins this season in the Fresha League.

The Exminster men have kept clean sheets in the two games the have played this year, 3-0 wins over Topsham Town and Beer Albion.

Feniton have also played twice this year, beating Topsham Town and sharing two goals with Hatherleigh Town in North Devon.

Kick-off at Acland Park on Saturday is 3pm.
