Feniton all set for Fresha League Match of the Day against Tiverton Town

Feniton powered their way back into the Fresha League Premier Division title race with a superb 5-1 demolition of a Heavitree United side who sit second in the table.

The Acland Park triumph over the Heavies was all the more impressive given the fact that the Heavies had won their previous six and had been unbeatens in ten – winning nine of them – since their last defeat on October 4!

Ben Ede, Charlie Selley, Matt Kingdom, Paul Dowling and the evergreen Phil Everett scored the Feniton goals.

On what was a good day all-round for the Blues, table-topping Tiverton Town Reserves slipped to only their second defeat of the season – beaten 2-1 by Newtown - and now only unbeaten Hatherleigh Town have not lost at least two top flight games this season.

The Blues sit sixth in the table, but have played fewer than the other challenging teams. They have played just 11 of their scheduled 30 whilst table-topping Tiverton Town Reserves who have played three more, are 11 points ahead of them.

That makes this Saturday’s match between the two at Acland Park one worthy of the billing ‘Fresha League Match of the Day’. The action at Acland Park gets underway at 2.15pm.
