Match v Germans

Football was the real winner as Honiton’s U13 and U14 football players joined forces for a friendly match at Exmouth against a soccer school visiting from Germany.

“It was a great experience for both sets of boys and a great evening for all,” said Garry Osborne who added that he “had coached the German boys for the week at Exmouth College, as well as organising the friendly, and was delighted it was a great success and that all the boys really enjoyed the evening”.

The match itself saw the German boys take a grip on the match and lead 3-0 thanks to well taken goals at half time.

Soon after the break it was 4-0 with a great free-kick out wide which the Honiton keeper was unable to stop despite getting a hand to it.

Thereafter Honiton showed real passion and after a long period of pressure struck back with two goals.
