Football’s back! Local sides in action on opening day of new season.

Football returns in earnest for local sides this weekend with the start of the South West Peninsula league Eastern Division season.

Axminster Town kick-things off on Friday night with a trip to Crediton United whilst the following day the East Devon spotlight falls on Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth.

The Otters entertain Okehampton Argyle whilst the Vikings play their first ever game at this level with a visit to Manstone Road of Appledore.

It’s also opening day in the Fresha Devon and Exeter league with Seaton Town hoping to make a flying start to their campaign with a trip to Premier Division newboys Barnstaple Town Reserves. Beer Albion also travel, they go to the other top flight newboys, Morchard Bishop. In Division Two Colyton begin with a trip to Topsham Town Reserves and Sidmouth Town’s second string travel to Westexe Rovers.

In Division Three, Seaton Town’s second team are at home to Newton St Cyres, whilst in Division Eight, Colyton Reserves host Colaton Raleigh’s second team and Offwell Rangers have an opening day game at Tipton St John Reserves.
