Freemantle goal helps Honiton Under-12s to fine point

Honiton Youth Under-12s had to settle for a share of the spoils in an entertaining game of four goals at Exeter City Raiders.

Honiton scored first when Caleb Freemantle pounced on an under-hit back pass. The goal served to sting the home side into action and they were given a gilt edged chance to level via what looked a ‘harsh’ penalty, awarded for handball against the excellent Laura-Beth Outram.

However, Honiton goalkeeper Will Whitworth made a superb save and half-time arrived with that Freemantle goal between the teams.

After the break the home pressure began to build and Raiders levelled. That drove Honiton into finding a new gear and they regained the lead through an own goal. With time ticking away the home side completed the scoring with a well-struck free-kick.
