Honiton Town Under-15s were empathic winners in an Easer Devon Youth League meeting with Colyton.

On a wet and windy day it was Honiton who struck first when an excellent cross from Dylan King was turned home by Blake Freemantle, the first of his four in the match. That was the start of an impressive first half display that ended with Honiton heading for the dry and warmth of the dressing room with six-goal lead.

The rain continued to fall during the second half, but it did not prevent Honiton adding a further five goals before a late consolation for the visitors.

In addition to the Freemantle four, Mason Rhode and Tom Olive both bagged braces and there were single goals from Will Bennett and Kieran Pike.

Freemantle was named Man of the Match, but credit must also be given to the battling performance of a Colyton side that never let their heads drop.
