Seaton Under-9s returned to action after the festive break and were straight back into the groove with two excellent results in the Exeter and District Youth League.

First up they beat City Raiders 5-1 with Aaron Hale scoring a superb hat-trick with some clinical finishing. Young Hale was a thorn in the opponent’s side throughout the contest with his pace and tricks.

Henry Matthews clipped in a well taken goal and Max Nevell completed the scoring, sweeping the ball home with his weaker foot, after some slick team play. Leo Gribble and Billy Fowler were excellent in defence. The Man of the Match performance came from George Gait who pulled the strings in midfield, with some terrific work rate, tackling and ball distribution.

Next up were Whipton and this was a much closer affair, finishing 0-0. Adam Clinch was the hero saving a penalty with a full length dive to tip the well struck shot around the post! The game was an end-to-end thriller, but neither team could find a way through, despite chances being created by both sides.

Harvey Green and Daniel Byrne caught the eye with some tough tackling and good use of the ball.
