Harrison leads Honiton Devils Under-12s to Rhinos success

Honiton Devils Under-12s battled well to deservedly claim all three points from a 3-2 Exeter Youth League success at Moors Rhinos.

Devils, with a bare nine, started brightly and took an eighth minute lead with a Sam Foster goal.

Four minutes later Foster played a delightful through-ball for skipper Zac Harrison to race onto before tucking the ball beyond the goalkeeper.

The Rhinos replied with a goal of their own and so Devils held a 2-1 advantage at half-time.

After the break both teams attacked and, when Harrison was felled in the area, he picked himself up to slot the penalty to make it 3-2 to his team.

Once again the Rhinos had an answer and they netted a second. Only a brilliant save from Devils’ glovesman Hayden Owen denied them a third before the home side were awarded a penalty that gave them the chance to level things up.

However, the spot kick was not put into the back of the net and thereafter Devils closed the game out well.

Special mention must go to Jai Freemantle for his tough tackling throughout and a wonderful ball he played in from deep in his own half, however, the Man of the Match award went to River Leisk for his tireless display.
