Hill bags brace but Dunks let two goal lead slip

Dunkeswell Rovers 3:3 Cullompton Rangers

Player-boss Rod Hill scored twice, but was left feeling a little deflated as his side threw away a two goal advantage.

The Dunks led 2-1 at the break and then 3-1, but the visitors grabbed a point with an 85th minute equaliser.

Hill bagged a brace, heading home a Steve Morris corner and then being in the right place at the right time when a Morris free-kick crashed against the bar and fell invitingly at his feet. Eric Cligg netted the other Dunks goal.

Hill said: “It’s frustrating that leading for so long, with so little time left, that we could not quite see it through.”

On Saturday Dunkeswell entertain Newtown Thirds.
