Central United 2, Honiton Harriers 1

Honiton Harriers Under-9s were edge out in an Exeter and District Youth League close encounter.

Harriers began well with Isaac Lidster, Mason Doble, Tyler Pendrick and Jack Bevan all heavily involved.

The home side gave as good as they got, but when they did get through the Harriers defensive line, they got no change out of the impressive Jack Cowley in goal. The deadlock was finally broken by the home side midway through the second half and they quickly doubled their lead.

Harriers refused to concede the points though and battled back and were rewarded for their contribution to the game when a good ball from Jack Bevan found Tyler Pendrick who beat his man and rifled the ball home.

That set up a grandstand finish in which harriers pressed, but could not find a second and so ended losing by the smallest of margins.
