Axminster Town 0, Honiton Harriers 8

Honiton Town Harriers Under-9s produced a powerful second half performance to ease their way to a derby success.

In the first half Harriers opted to keep things tight with good play in midfield from Tyler Pendrick and Jack Bevan. Axminster fired the first shot of the game, one that was well saved by a confident Jack Cowley. Just before half-time Mason Doble fired Harriers into the lead. During the interval Harriers boss Gary Osbourne asked his young players to play more as a team and pass the ball. The youngsters took hi to his word and served up a scintillating show after the break. Liam Osborne scored five goals and young Doble bagged his second before Isaac Lidster’s long-range shot completed the scoring.

Osbourne said: “I am so glad that the second half show brought the goals as it did for it taught my young players a good lesson. The difference between first and second half performances was that after the break they played as a team and now they know what such collective play can bring.”
