Seaton 5, Honiton Terrors 1

Honiton Under-10s went out at the semi-final stage of the East Devon Youth League KO Cup.

A wet, cold and windy morning saw both teams start brightly with end to end action with Connor Harrison in defence helping keeper Harry Horn keep Seaton at bay. Ben Lapping and Dominic McCreadie came close on several occasions in their forward roles with Joseph Charlton and Zac Harrison working hard in midfield.

Seaton broke the deadlock, but Honiton kept battling hard and were rewarded with an equaliser before the break; Ewan Evans scoring with a fierce strike.

The second half began in similar vein to the first period with two well-matched sides looking for the all-important third goal of the coup tie.

It was Seaton who scored it, and it gave them renewed confidence whilst Honiton’s high tempo game began to wilt despite the great efforts of Ewan Evans and Jordan Harrison. A third for Seaton effectively ended the contest, but the Terrors, with Jacob Fisher and James Pring impressing, did not lie down. However two late goals gave Seaton the final berth.

The Terrors Man of the Match award was shared between Joseph Charlton and Zac Harrison for a great display and never giving up.
